KGW reports that the Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) was called to the 15000 block of Northeast 4th Circle at 7:17 a.m. after neighbors, witnessing flames leaping from the home's roof, took action to both alert the authorities and rouse the slumbering residents within. All four occupants, including two adults and two children, managed to exit the house unscathed before the fire crews' arrival.
Upon reaching the scene, VFD personnel found the front of the house engulfed in smoke and flames. Quickly launching into their firefighting efforts, the crews not only stretched hose lines inside to attack the fire but they also strategically cut into the roof for ventilation, as detailed by KPTV. Fighting the fire, that had crept into the attic, took a concerted effort but was largely subdued within a 10-minute window.
Remarkably, despite the severity of the incident, there were no injuries reported.
