As El Paso ISD gears up for the Thanksgiving break, Interim Superintendent Martha Aguirre sends out a message of gratitude and encouragement to the community. In her communication, Aguirre stated, "This season offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reconnect with loved ones, and reflect on the many blessings, big and small, that fill our lives," as per El Paso ISD. Her address commends the joint effort of students, staff, and families for their generosity displayed through food drives and meal baskets.
In her message, Aguirre also touted the success of the first-ever Principal Attendance Challenge mentioning through which campuses like Polk Elementary, Guillen Middle School, and Franklin High School took top honors for their engagement and creative initiatives and at the same time, she rooted for Andress High School's Golden Eagles in their impending playoff, noting their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance have brought pride to our entire district. All eyes are set on the Golden Eagles as they clash tonight with Melissa High School in a pivotal playoff game. Her statement reflects the district's collective support: "The entire El Paso ISD family is behind you, Eagles!" as obtained by El Paso ISD.
The educational leader did not miss the chance to highlight the opening of a new Family Resource Center at Lamar Elementary, which promises a range of supports, from food to hygiene items to educational classes. These centers reflect our belief that when families are supported, students will thrive. Aguirre championed the initiative, reinforcing EPISD's commitment to comprehensive family engagement. The Resource Center aims to be a fortifying presence, echoing Aguirre's sentiment about the importance of familial backing for student success.
