The El Paso community can breathe a bit easier today, as the County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a kidnapping suspect, following a disturbing incident earlier this week. According to a social media post by El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, deputies were called to a scene in the 1500 block of Fitzroy Drive on November 4, where witnesses reported a man forcibly entering a home and later abducting a 46-year-old woman in a white Nissan Armada.
The subsequent investigation led to the identification of 38-year-old Jorge Humberto Centeno as the prime suspect, and an arrest warrant was soon in the hands of law enforcement officials, deputies tracked the suspect to a second location on Ange Street, where they found the car in question and surrounded the house, they were met with silence when they attempted to communicate with those inside, prompting involvement from the Sheriff's Office SWAT team; after which Centeno surrendered and the victim was found safe inside.
With the suspect in custody, the El Paso County community has been spared the ongoing threat of a kidnapper at large. Centeno now faces charges and has been booked into the detention facility without bond, signaling swift justice for the terrifying ordeal that unfolded just days ago.
