Students from El Paso ISD are gearing up to bring their A-game to KTSM's WeatherFest this Saturday. On November 8, The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso will play host to local students eager to put their science and weather-smartness on display. This engaging STEM event, which starts at 10 a.m., is open to the family and offers free admission to all who are interested in scientific exploration and education.
KTSM-TV, the host of the WeatherFest, is setting the stage for a friendly competition among students from EPISD and their counterparts from Gadsden ISD. The contest is not just a display of academic prowess, but a battle for the Ultimate Weather Warrior Award. The event also promises something for everyone, featuring local vendors, live entertainment and hand-on activities.
It's not just about the students; this year's WeatherFest includes The More You Know Expo, promising additional educational opportunities for attendees. Parents and children alike can dive into demonstrations and interactive exhibits, deepening their understanding of science and meteorology.
Many of the projects featured at the event are the brainchildren of EPISD's new elementary academies. These academies, which were started this school year, focus on providing hands-on and future-focused learning experiences. According to El Paso ISD, these academies represent a significant milestone in delivering specialized instruction and enriched learning to families in the region.
