On a quiet night in El Paso, the sound of a siren marked the unraveling of a dangerous situation. According to a social media post by El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, deputies stopped a vehicle on Doniphan Drive, where they discovered Sol Vasquez Moreno, aged 30, appeared to be under the influence with a minor present in the vehicle.
The details shared by Sheriff Ugarte reveal that the traffic stop took place in the early morning hours, around 2:13 a.m. on November 26. Deputies, upon conducting their investigation, found evidence leading to the conclusion that Vasquez Moreno was driving while intoxicated, doing so with a child under the age of 15 in the car; her actions not only compromised her own safety but that of the child and others on the road.
As a result of the deputies' findings, Vasquez Moreno faced immediate arrest. The charge laid against her was Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger Under 15, a grave accusation that acknowledges the heightened risk imposed on the most vulnerable of passengers. Sol Vasquez Moreno was processed and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, and a bond was set at $1,000, reflecting the severity of the offense.
