A fire that damaged a Kirby townhome last night was ruled accidental and caused by an electrical issue, according to the Memphis Fire Department. Action News 5 reports the fire started just before 9 p.m. at 6680 Millers Pond Circle, causing about $140,000 in structural damage and $53,000 in content loss.

Fire crews arrived to find the townhome filled with smoke and flames, which appeared to have started in the living room. FOX13 noted that firefighters rescued a dog from the home. No human injuries were reported. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the incident left significant damage to the property.

Nearby homes were also affected. The Memphis Fire Department estimates that the adjoining unit sustained about $20,000 in damage, while a neighboring home incurred roughly $800 in damage.
