A fatal shooting occurred near Leonard's Package Store on Pleasant Street in Fall River following an altercation between two men. The Fall River Police Department reported in a social media post that officers were dispatched to the scene last Saturday, around 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a fight.
When police arrived, they found an unconscious man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a trauma center but later died from his injuries. The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Fall River Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
