In an incident that underscores the constant battle against unlicensed firearms and the associated dangers, two Fall River residents face myriad charges including child endangerment. As reported by the City of Fall River Police Department's social media post, Lesly Saintfar, aged 30, and Lucita Louis, aged 28, were arrested following a violent altercation and a subsequent search that discovered two unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

According to the department's statement, the situation unfolded on November 5 when officers were dispatched to Maple Gardens upon receiving a report of an individual with a firearm. Lesly Saintfar was detained at the scene after officers responded to quickly contain the situation. During the incident, Sharian Downs, aged 27, used pepper spray in an altercation with Lucita Louis, following a verbal argument. Witnesses said that Saintfar pointed a handgun at an individual during the fray. A subsequent investigation revealed the firearms in the home, both lacking proper security measures, were easily accessible to a child, thus contributing to put recklessly the child's welfare at risk.

The search warrant executed by CAST detectives turned up two firearms, several large-capacity magazines, and ammunition in the residence shared by Saintfar and Louis. The Fall River PD emphasized the presence of a child in the home, highlighting the additional concern for reckless endangerment of a child. The City of Fall River Police Department statement outlined the charges against Saintfar and Louis, which included "Possess Firearm Without FID Card," "Assault with a Dangerous Weapon," and "Reckless Endangerment of a Child," among others. Sharian Downs, also present during the altercation, was summonsed on charges including "Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon."

"The quick response by Patrol officers prevented this altercation from escalating further," the City of Fall River Police Department statement read. Commendations were also made for the CAST detectives' and Patrol personnel's efforts which led to the recovery of the illegal firearms.
