Last evening, the City of Fall River Police Department’s C.A.S.T. (Community and Services Tactical) unit made a notable arrest at a Brayton Avenue homeless encampment, resulting in the seizure of drugs, a stolen firearm, and the apprehension of a man named Robert Langlais, according to information provided in a Facebook post by the City of Fall River Police Department.

Langlais, 34, was targeted in the search warrant due to suspicion of his involvement in selling fentanyl and crack cocaine out of the encampment, as well as illegal possession of a firearm; detectives had been gathering intelligence on his activities, through the course of their investigation Langlais was not found inside the tent when the police executed the warrant, but he was spotted nearby afterward—resulting in a foot pursuit and his subsequent arrest, as reported by th City of Fall River Police Department.

Upon his capture, Langlais was found with a Sig Sauer P365 gun loaded with nine rounds, over 7 grams of powder cocaine, in excess of 4 grams of crack cocaine, more than 1.5 grams of fentanyl, two Clonazepam pills, and over $300 in cash; the City of Fall River Police Department detailed the haul and also confirmed that the firearm had been stolen.

Langlais is facing several charges, including carrying an unlicensed firearm, having a large-capacity gun, possessing drugs with intent to sell, and receiving stolen property. This comes almost a year after he was arrested for getting stuck in a chimney while pretending to be Santa. City of Fall River Police Department thanked everyone involved in the operation and joked that this “holiday season” brought an unexpected reunion between Langlais and the C.A.S.T. Unit.
