Early Monday morning, a severe collision at a west Phoenix intersection involving an SUV and two semi-trucks resulted in a fiery aftermath and serious injuries. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the crash transpired just after 4 a.m. on Nov. 17, at the junction of 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street, where first responders upon arrival encountered the burning vehicles and quickly transported the SUV driver to the hospital with grave injuries, meanwhile a semi-truck driver was also hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
Arizona’s Family reported that the Arizona Department of Public Safety is connecting the crash to a hit-and-run that occurred shortly before on Interstate 10, an event that preceded the SUV striking the two trucks off the freeway. A witness, having encountered the fleeing red SUV during the hit-and-run on the interstate, came forward with his account of the series of events to Arizona’s Family.
The intersection of 75th Avenue and Van Buren is expected to stay closed while they investigate the crash that suddenly turned an ordinary commute into a scene of destruction. Officials are asking the public to be patient as they sort through the details and work to restore safety, as per Arizona's Family.
