A recently found puppy is currently in the temporary care of the Hazelwood Police Department, according to a recent social media post from the department. The young canine was found wandering in the 7700 block of Chalmette, and the police are now seeking assistance to reunite it with its owner. The Hazelwood Police Department ask that if anyone has information regarding the dog's owner to please put forward this information promptly.
In the interim, while an owner is to hopefully be located, the police have made arrangements to place the puppy into foster care. This step ensures the animal will be properly looked after until it can safely return to its rightful owner. "Currently located at the Hazelwood Police Department but being placed into foster care shortly unless owner is located," the Hazelwood Police Department stated on its Facebook page. The aim appears clear: to quickly find, rather than to keep the puppy in the confines of a station long term.
For those who might know the owner or have any leads on who could own the found pup, Hazelwood Communications is ready to receive this critical information at 314-838-5000.
