At the request of local authorities, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a death in Toccoa. Last Thursday, motel staff found the body of 50-year-old Dennis Paul Clouse in a room at the Toccoa Motel. The GBI said no one else was registered as a guest with Clouse.
The Toccoa Police Department received a call at about 10:40 a.m. last Thursday and secured the scene. They requested assistance from the GBI to help investigate. The investigation into Clouse’s death is ongoing, with GBI agents working to determine the circumstances surrounding it.
While details are limited, officials have assured the community that the death appears to be an isolated incident. The GBI noted in a press release that there is no known threat to the public.
An autopsy will be conducted on Clouse at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur. The results, which are still pending, are expected to clarify the circumstances of his death.
