Late payments will incur a 5% penalty, followed by additional monthly penalties and interest until the balance is paid. The city’s property tax rate is set at $1.79 per $100 of assessed value, reflecting a $0.2913 increase to support core priorities and long-term financial goals, as reported by the City of Germantown.
Germantown residents can pay property taxes online through the City’s website, with a $0.99 fee for eChecks or a 2.5% fee for credit cards. Payments can also be made in person at City Hall, 1930 S. Germantown Rd., during business hours, which close at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. Drop boxes are available at City Hall and checked daily. Payments by mail can be sent to P.O. Box 2002, Memphis, TN 38101-2002. Shelby County taxes are due by February 28, 2026 and should be mailed to Regina Morrison Newman, Shelby County Trustee, at P.O. Box 2751, Memphis, TN 38101-2751. County Trustee representatives will be at City Hall on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 4:30 p.m., as stated by the City of Germantown.
