In a disturbing Halloween incident, the Gilroy Police Department is investigating after a local teenager found a razor blade embedded in a candy bar. This alarming discovery was made public through a social media post by the Gilroy Police Department.
The report from the Gilroy Police detailed how, on Wednesday, the teen bit into a Milky Way bar and came upon the blade hidden in the chewy nougat. Following the occurrence, the family contacted the authorities the next morning. Fortunately, the girl did not sustain serious injuries. This is the only reported instance of candy tampering in the area so far. The Gilroy Police Department is seeking the community's assistance in the case, particularly from those in the area around Westwood Drive, where the teenager had been trick-or-treating. Sergeant Ellsworth has been assigned to the investigation, and any relevant information can be sent to his official email, [email protected].
The Gilroy Police Department has issued a reminder for all residents to be vigilant: "Please check your children’s candy to ensure all is safe to eat. If anything appears to have been tampered with, throw the candy away immediately."
