
The City of Glendale is updating its office hours and service schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday. City offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, and Nov. 28, and will reopen with regular hours on Dec. 1. Essential services will operate on adjusted schedules to serve residents during the holiday period.
The City of Glendale has announced that there will be no residential garbage, recycling, or bulk trash collection on Nov. 27. On Nov. 28, services will follow a Thursday schedule, and on Nov. 29, collection will return to the regular Friday schedule. The Glendale Municipal Landfill will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, and will reopen on Nov. 28. Public transportation in Glendale will continue to operate with certain services available during the Thanksgiving holiday. The Glendale OnBoard microtransit service will run on Thanksgiving Day and Nov. 28, with reservations required by noon on Nov. 26. ADA services will operate without interruption. GUS Bus 1 will follow a Sunday schedule on Nov. 27 and a Saturday schedule on Nov. 28, while GUS Bus 2 and 3 routes will not operate on those days. Glendale libraries and community facilities will observe closures during the Thanksgiving holiday. All Glendale Public Libraries will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Nov. 28, reopening on Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. Recreation centers, including Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, Rose Lane Community Center, O’Neil Recreation Center, and Glendale Community Center, will also be closed on these two days and will resume services on Nov. 29. The Glendale Adult Center will be closed on Thanksgiving and Nov. 28, reopening on Dec. 1. The REC on Wheels program will not operate during the same period. The Glendale Municipal Airport will keep its runways open 24 hours, while the administrative office will be closed on Nov. 27 and 28. The terminal building will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both days. The Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau will also be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. These adjustments allow essential services to continue while city offices and facilities observe the holiday.
