A shooting in the Christians Bend community of Hawkins County on Friday afternoon left one man dead, according to the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. and is under investigation. WVLT reports that Sheriff Ronnie Lawson confirmed the death and said all individuals involved have been identified and accounted for.
Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community. WATE reports that interviews are ongoing, and the name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Sheriff’s Office told WBIR that no additional information will be released at this time, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
