A morning blaze in a Phoenix apartment complex has left a man in his 70s fighting for his life. The fire erupted on Friday near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road, with flames engulfing a unit within a two-story building. According to ABC15, before the Phoenix Fire Department could arrive, two local citizens courageously entered the structure to rescue the elderly man from the inferno.

These individuals, whom officials have not yet identified, managed to swiftly and safely extract the victim from the hazardous situation. "Two citizens entered the building and pulled the man out," as per the official reports obtained by ABC15. The fire department, upon arrival, found smoke billowing from the first-floor apartment and was able to quickly knock down what turned out to be a kitchen fire. Despite the rapid response, the tenant remained in critical condition by the time he was transported to the hospital.

While the fire officials confirmed that no other people were in the unit at the time of the fire, they are continuing to investigate the origin of the blaze. As noted by 12News, the department has stated, "The cause of the fire is under investigation." Fortunately, there were no additional injuries reported in relation to this incident.
