Massachusetts State Police conducted a high-speed chase that started on Interstate 95 and concluded with a crash in Braintree. NBC Boston stated that the pursuit began around 1 a.m. near Exit 17 in Sharon when a vehicle linked to a driver with an outstanding warrant did not comply with a routine stop.

The situation escalated when troopers observed what appeared to be bullet holes in the vehicle’s door, NBC Boston reported. The driver then left the traffic stop and accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 mph on I-95 North. Although the vehicle eventually lost a tire, the pursuit continued onto I-93 until it ended in a crash at Exit 6 in Braintree.

Following the crash, state police took the male driver into custody. He was transported to South Shore Hospital for evaluation, according to WPRI. Information regarding the driver’s identity or the charges he faces has not been released.

The Massachusetts State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the chase and the reason for the initial traffic stop. As the suspect has been taken into custody, details about the outstanding warrant have not been released. Updates regarding any additional charges and the driver’s condition following the crash will be provided as the investigation continues.
