This afternoon, emergency services responded to a boat fire off the coast of Hollywood Beach. The blaze broke out on a 35-foot vessel that was underway and not anchored or docked, according to WSVN. Hollywood Fire Rescue, Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units worked together to extinguish the flames.

Local 10 reported that the fire call came in around 1:30 p.m. Aerial footage showed responders using hoses to put out the fire near North Surf Road and Taylor Street, about two to three miles east of Johnson Street. No injuries were reported, and the fire was successfully contained.

Two passengers were on board when the fire began. The U.S. Coast Guard assisted in their rescue, bringing them onto a Coast Guard vessel. Other nearby boaters helped the two passengers before the Coast Guard arrived. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
