
Following a swift investigation by Holyoke Detectives, an arrest has been made in the case of a stabbing that transpired on Monday evening. In a post on the police department's Facebook page, Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan confirmed the apprehension of 36-year-old Ismael Ocasio, accused of severely wounding an adult male in the area of 13 Cabot Street. According to the Holyoke Police Department's Post, officers answered a call at roughly 7:05 p.m. and found the victim, who was later hospitalized with serious injuries.
Detectives Ashley Feliciano and William Lebrun, with Sergeant Dustin Summers rounding off this tight-knit investigative trio of the Holyoke Police Criminal Investigation Bureau, homed in on Ocasio as a prime suspect. On Tuesday at near 7:00 p.m., the detectives, conducting a patrol near Main and Spring Streets, located and arrested Ocasio, also confiscating crack cocaine in his possession during the arrest.
Ocasio now faces a plethora of charges stemming from the violence of that Monday night. His charges include Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury, simple Assault & Battery, and Armed Assault to Murder, among others. He must also answer for the possession of a Class B Drug, as indicated in the department's social media statement.
