A 36-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition after three siblings assaulted and stabbed her yesterday in Kalihi. Officers who responded found the woman with stab wounds to her back and hand and with her hair pulled. The three suspects — all female and identified as ages 35, 18 and 14 — were arrested and remain in custody while detectives investigate.
Police account of the attack
As reported by Hawaii News Now, Honolulu Police Department officers were called to the Kalihi area at about 10 p.m. last night after a report of an assault. HNN says HPD described the incident as a "mob" attack in which the siblings stabbed the victim in the back and hand and pulled her hair, then identified and arrested the females on assault charges. The outlet adds the investigation is ongoing and the suspects remain in custody.
Recent violence in the neighborhood
The stabbing comes amid other violent episodes in Kalihi this month, including a shooting-and-stabbing near Mayor Wright Homes earlier in the week, according to Hoodline. That reporting, which referenced KITV and HPD statements, underscores multiple serious assaults hitting the same area in recent weeks.
Investigators seek tips
Authorities have not released a motive or additional identifying details about the victim beyond her age. The Honolulu Police Department asks anyone with information to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300, or to submit tips via the P3 Tips app, per an HPD news release.
