
A woman died in a car accident on North Broadway in Knoxville on Sunday around 4:30 p.m. Her Ford Fusion went off the road, hit a utility pole, and overturned between Haynes Place and Caswell Avenue. She was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released, as per WBIR.
The Knoxville Police Department has assigned its crash reconstruction team to investigate a recent serious accident, though the exact cause of the crash remains under review, as reported by WVLT. Officials are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
According to the Knoxville Police Department on their Facebook page, "the driver, an adult woman, sustained critical injuries in the crash and was transported to the UT Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival."
