For those eagerly awaiting the thrill of sledding down the popular slopes at Lake Waconia Regional Park, you'll have to hold on to your toboggans a little while longer. In a recent social media update, Carver County Parks informed the community that despite the overnight snowfall, the quantity wasn't sufficient. "There isn’t enough to safely open the sledding hill at Lake Waconia Regional Park," the statement read, indicating a continued closure in the interest of public safety.
The Park's post explained that, "For everyone’s safety, the hill will remain closed at this time."
For now, the hill's gates will remain closed until further notice. The park officials will continue to monitor conditions and promise to promptly inform the community when the hill is ready to be enjoyed. "We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of all park visitors," the park's statement concluded.
Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the Carver County Parks Facebook page for updates on the opening status of the sledding hill.
