Attempting to navigate these now-suspended digital corridors for Online Bill Pay, Vendor Access, and Ask Las Cruces will have to wait until after the weekend, as the city's IT infrastructure undergoes its much-needed facelift. The Cashiering service is not immune to the upgrade either, wrapping up its operations at the same time on Thursday. And while the upgrades hum in the background, residents needing to make utility payments in person will have their opportunity on Friday, November 7, but there's a catch: they'll need to arm themselves with account information since cashiers will be robbed of their ability to pull up customer details.
Analog approaches to dealing with the bureaucracy will make a brief comeback, with officials issuing handwritten receipts for any transactions conducted face-to-face during this time. The city has notified its residents that all hands are on deck to ensure the system restoration blossoms to life at the promised time of 8 a.m. on November 10.
