The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), in partnership with PayIt, has launched a new digital platform that allows boaters to renew their registrations online. The service enables customers to submit the necessary information and complete payments directly through the website, reducing the need to visit offices or send payments by mail.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) introduced a modernized system intended to reduce administrative tasks for boat owners. Secunda Byrd, the Licensing Director for LDWF, provided details about the system in a statement. "We’re excited to launch this new, innovative online platform, which makes it easier than ever for our customers to renew their boat registrations and request renewals." This sentiment, as obtained by the official LDWF announcement, the department said the system is designed to enhance customer service and streamline the registration process, allowing boaters to spend less time on paperwork and more time on Louisiana’s waterways.

The new digital platform, available at boat.wlf.la.gov, allows users to create an account, enter their registration number and the first four digits of their Hull Identification Number, and make secure payments with a credit card. The system is designed to provide quick access while maintaining data security for boaters across the state.

The LDWF is urging registered businesses and co-owners to update their personal and account information to ensure uninterrupted access to the new system. Individuals who received an "Official Notice to Registered Businesses and Co-owners" postcard are advised to update their details promptly, as per the LDWF announcement.
