Residents of Lewisville and the surrounding communities are in for a vivid treat this November as the city prepares to host "Illuminate Lewisville." This three-night event, running from Nov. 7-9, aims to celebrate the city's centennial anniversary with a unique combination of light shows, interactive art, and local flavors, all nestled within Old Town's charming scenery.
During the celebration, the façade of Lewisville City Hall, situated at 151 W. Church Street, is set to become a dynamic backdrop. Projections from Lightware Labs, a Dallas-based artist group, will feature art that weaves together the narrative threads of Lewisville's heritage, its current identity, and visions for its future. With the aid of technology, the city's story will be shared in a new light, quite literally, as images, videos, and animations dance across the architecture—a blend of history and modernity, told through the universal language of light.
"Illuminate Lewisville" is not only about gazing skyward. The event encourages engagement through interactive artistic activities, games that light up, and a spread of local food trucks serving up their best offerings. According to the City of Lewisville's announcement, the event is open to all, encouraging attendees to bring along family and friends for an evening that honors the city's past while looking forward to the years to come.
Opening night, aligning with First Fridays, is said to include additional features such as an LED Photobooth, food trucks lining Church Street, and street games that will be lighting up the area with a playful ambiance.
