Authorities confirmed an arrest in a Lowell hit-and-run. Channa Sath, 44, of Lowell, is scheduled to appear in Lowell District Court on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred last Thursday around 11:55 p.m. on the 700 block of Chelmsford Street, where a vehicle hit a woman who later died at a hospital, as reported by Boston 25 News.
The Lowell Police Department said they found the car connected to the crash after releasing surveillance photos. The charges against Sath have not been announced, and the female victim’s identity has not been made public. The investigation is being handled by the Lowell Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, the Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, according to NBC Boston.
