The Lowell Police Department is seeking public assistance in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run that occurred last Thursday at around 11:55 p.m. on the 700 block of Chelmsford Street. A woman was struck and, despite emergency medical treatment, died from her injuries at a local hospital, as reported by the Lowell Police Department.
The driver involved fled the scene, leaving the incident under investigation. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to help identify the vehicle and those responsible, as stated by the Lowell Police Department.
The Lowell Police Department, with its Accident Reconstruction Unit, Criminal Investigations Bureau, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, is investigating a recent incident. Authorities released a photo of a suspected vehicle and asked for public help. "Anyone with information related to this incident or the vehicle of interest pictured below is asked to call the Lowell Police Department at (978) 937-3200," according to the Lowell Police Department on their Facebook page.
