
A tragic incident has occurred in north Phoenix, where a male bicyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries following a crash with a vehicle Tuesday morning. According to 12 News, the accident took place at around 9:01 a.m. in the area of 11th Avenue and Carefree Highway. Officers who arrived on the scene found the bicyclist already receiving aid from an off-duty officer. The injured man was subsequently rushed to the hospital.
At the time of the incident, the eastbound Carefree Highway was partially closed, limited to just one lane to allow the investigation of the crash to proceed. Despite the severity of the situation, an off-duty firefighter was on hand swiftly to administer emergency treatment to the injured man, said to be clinging to life. AZ Family reports that the individual driving the vehicle involved stayed behind after the accident occurred, collaborating with authorities.
It has been confirmed that the driver of the car, alongside a woman who was present, did not leave the scene, as detailed by police documentation referenced by 12 News.
