
In a somber development from East El Paso, one man has lost his life in a shooting incident, which also led to another man's arrest. The El Paso Police descended on an apartment complex located at the 7900 block of Viscount following reports of a shooting, according to KVIA.
The scene unfolded near Sunmount Drive, where, as per law enforcement officials, they found a man believed to be in his 40s deceased outside of an apartment. The call reporting the incident was received at approximately 11:49 a.m. A suspect, a man in his 20s, was taken into custody at the scene; "We don’t believe anybody else is outstanding (in the homicide case) at this time," an officer named Cisneros informed, as obtained by the El Paso Times. The police's investigative efforts are ongoing, despite the apprehension of the suspect.
Authorities have indicated that the apartment complex area will remain closed to the public while the investigation continues. A second site in the vicinity is also cordoned off, suggesting it may be relevant to the case at hand, as confirmed by KFOX-TV, which reported the closures following a PIO discussion.
