Yesterday early morning, a shooting on Edgewood Avenue SE left one person injured. According to the Atlanta Police Department, Zone 6 officers responded to reports of gunfire at 367 Edgewood Avenue SE.
Police found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. He was transported to the hospital and remained conscious and able to communicate. Authorities said the victim was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound when the shooting occurred.
Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle was struck by gunfire, though the motive and circumstances are still unclear. The Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating, reviewing evidence and witness statements to determine what happened.
