
A house fire in Concord, New Hampshire, yesterday resulted in the death of a man and the safe escape of a woman. Firefighters responding to a medical alert arrived shortly before 3:30 a.m. at a residence on Rhodora Court and found smoke coming from the front door, according to NBC Boston.
Firefighters entering the home quickly located and rescued a sleeping woman, who was unharmed. A man was later found deceased on another floor, according to the Concord Monitor. His identity has not been released pending an autopsy scheduled for today. While the exterior of the house was largely intact, firefighters noted that no working smoke alarms were present on the floor where the fire began.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office is leading an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, in collaboration with the Concord Fire Department and Concord Police.
