Maricopa is expanding its recreational offerings beyond standard benches and playgrounds with the addition of bocce courts at Copper Sky. Starting November 24, residents can visit with their ID to check out a bocce set, available seven days a week. The courts are free for any resident who wants to play on the turf field at Copper Sky.

As part of a broader initiative to enhance the city’s parks, a number of updates are planned, including new ballfields, additional pickleball courts, and shade structures, providing residents with more opportunities for outdoor activity, according to the City of Maricopa.

In line with Maricopa’s ongoing recreational developments, the upcoming Field House is planned to provide additional indoor activity space. Scheduled for completion in mid to late 2026, the facility is expected to feature multiple court layouts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. Meanwhile, Pacana Park will receive new shade structures, currently in the design phase, to provide shelter for visitors from the Arizona sun.

The Mike Ingram Heritage Park, scheduled for completion in February 2026, will include an outdoor amphitheater and a train-themed playground, set near the historic Zephyr train car. The park will also feature a variety of landscaped areas and pedestrian improvements.
