A high-speed police chase through the streets of New Hampshire culminated in the arrest of a Massachusetts man on Tuesday morning. According to The Main Wire, 27-year-old Alejandro Vargas of Lowell, Mass., now faces multiple charges including felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon after he allegedly slammed a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado into a New Hampshire State Police cruiser.
Initial reports came from Epping police, who had engaged in a brief pursuit of Vargas's truck before it was seen speeding westward on Route 101 at 105 mph, as noted by the Candia Police Department. State Trooper Brian Knell spotted the vehicle later on Interstate 93 in Manchester, leading to another chase. "He caught up to the car near Exit 1 on I-293 and attempted to initiate a stop, but the vehicle allegedly fled," as per The Main Wire. Vargas's attempted getaway came to an abrupt end in Arnold Street, a dead end, where the crash occurred.
After hitting the police cruiser and two parked cars, Vargas and an unidentified passenger abandoned the truck and fled on foot. Using a drone, the Manchester Police Department located Vargas near Hill Street and took him into custody. The passenger, however, remains at large, with no description issued by the police. In a statement obtained by NBC Boston, authorities mentioned Vargas had an outstanding warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service, though details regarding the warrant were not disclosed.
