Massachusetts State Police arrested 56 individuals in a statewide operation targeting child sexual abuse material. The effort, called "Operation Firewall," involved federal officials, district attorneys from multiple counties, and local police from over 30 towns, according to MassLive.
The suspects, aged 18 to 75, faced charges including possession of child pornography, enticement of a child, failing to register as a sex offender, and rape or assault and battery of a child. Law enforcement executed 34 search warrants and seized 229 electronic devices.
Among those arrested were Jared Tracey and Fabio DeAmaral of New Bedford, charged with enticement of a child. Boston 25 News released the names of all 56 suspects. Authorities urged parents and caregivers to monitor children’s online activity and warned that further arrests may follow.
