The McNairy County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on Sheriff Guy Buck after a serious car accident yesterday. A social media post from the department stated that Sheriff Buck, injured in a head-on collision with a log truck on Highway 57 in Michie, is now awake and recovering.
The morning accident led to Sheriff Buck being transported to Regional One in Memphis, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Chief Deputy Zach Bay acknowledged the community’s support in a Facebook post, saying, “We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of thoughts, prayers, and support from our community during this time. Your kindness means more than you know.”
The cause of the collision and the condition of the log truck driver have not been publicly released. The McNairy County Sheriff’s Office has focused on Sheriff Buck’s recovery, and no additional updates or statements regarding the incident or investigation are currently scheduled.
