The Memphis Police Department announced the arrest of 33-year-old Cordero Ragland, who has confirmed gang affiliations and a prior criminal record. According to a social media post shared by MPD today, the arrest took place yesterday following an investigation.
Authorities reported that Ragland was carrying a handgun modified with a Glock switch, a device that turns the weapon into a fully automatic firearm. The confiscation of the device is part of wider efforts to remove illegal weapons and enhance public safety in Memphis.
Ragland faces several charges, including possession of a handgun as a convicted felon, evading arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon, and theft of property involving a firearm. The Memphis Police Department said the arrest highlights ongoing concerns about gun violence and illegally modified weapons in urban areas.
