Miami-Dade election officials are gearing up to test their voting systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability ahead of the December 9 municipal elections. The Supervisor of Elections, the Honorable Alina Garcia, has scheduled the Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing to be held on successive days for different elections. For Miami Beach's runoff election, the test will occur tomorrow at the elections office located at 2700 NW 87th Avenue.
According to the press release issued by Miami-Dade County, the Hialeah General Election and Miami Run-off Election will both have their L&A Testing on November 21, also at the same location. This meticulous process will methodically try to ensure that every aspect of the voting experience, from start to finish, is ready to accurately capture and tabulate votes without error.
"Your vote is your voice. Protecting that voice is our highest responsibility," Garcia was quoted saying in the county's announcement. With an expectation of transparency and accessibility, the invitation extends not just to party representatives and candidates, but to members of the media and the general public to witness the testing process first-hand.
The process of Logic and Accuracy Testing is open for observation, a move meant to bolster public confidence in the electoral process. As noted in the statement obtained by the Miami-Dade County news release, "Our mission is to earn and keep the public’s trust by delivering secure, accurate, fair, transparent, and accessible elections, and this is a big step in that direction."
