The city of Miami is anticipating a stretch of predominantly sunny skies and warm temperatures leading up to Thanksgiving week, with a minor increase in moisture hinting at possible showers during the holiday. According to the National Weather Service, today's weather showcases a high of 83 degrees with calm winds becoming east in the afternoon and moving into a mostly clear evening with a low around 69 degrees.
Providing an outlook for the upcoming days, the National Weather Service forecasts a consistent pattern of sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs maintaining in the low 80s and nighttime lows in the low 70s. For those planning ahead for Thanksgiving day, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms enters the forecast, with a calm wind becoming north by morning. While a cold front is on the radar as it approaches South Florida, predicted showers seem meager and spaced out, indicating that any holiday plans might not be significantly disrupted by weather.
In contrast, a report from Local 10 News suggests that "this persistent pattern of dry, warm weather continues for us through at least early next week." Aligning with the National Weather Service's predictions, Local 10 also mentions that aside from an occasional sprinkle along the coast, the atmosphere in Miami seems favorable for outdoor activities with high temperatures in the 80s and ideal beach and boating conditions through the weekend.
Added to the outlook, Local 10 News notes that, "A cold front is expected to approach South Florida later next week, so moisture will be increasing ahead of it, which will raise the chances for showers as we head toward Thanksgiving and Black Friday." Such anticipations mesh with earlier reports suggesting the possibility of showers but refrain from predicting a washout for holiday events. While it may still be early for definitive forecasts, both sources indicate a warm and mostly clear path leading into the Thanksgiving holiday.
