With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the bend, the City of Miami Department of Solid Waste has announced it will continue to operate as usual. According to a city's news notice released today, there will be no breaks in garbage, recycling, and bulky trash collection services for Miami residents on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. Folks are reminded to set their items out by the curb 12 to 24 hours ahead of their scheduled pickup to ensure everything is collected in a timely manner.
Miami residents who usually have Thursday or Friday trash pickups are advised to maintain their regular schedule during the holiday season. However, the city requests that trash be set out slightly earlier to accommodate collectors navigating the holiday schedule. All items should be placed at least five feet away from obstacles such as utility poles, vehicles, and mailboxes. Bulky items should be separated from regular garbage and recycling and placed in their own designated pile.
In a statement obtained by the City of Miami's official website, there was also a gentle reminder for bulky item disposal. Residents can also drop off large items at the Mini Dump Facility at 1290 NW 20th St., Miami, FL 33142. The facility is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Proof of Miami residency is required, so visitors should come prepared.
