Residents of Miami are experiencing a mix of weather conditions this week, with a forecast that suggests a little bit of everything - from sunshine to potential showers and a Thanksgiving cool down. According to a National Weather Service report, Wednesday’s weather is partly cloudy with a high of 84 degrees, but a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms could pop up between 1pm and 4pm. The humidity sits uncomfortably at 82%, and winds are coming in from the east at 8 mph.
As for the evening, a 30% chance of nighttime showers and thunderstorms is predicted, particularly between 2am and 4am. Thanksgiving Day itself is expected to uphold this pattern, with a 40% chance of showers and possible thunderstorms after 4pm. Following the front, the National Weather Service anticipates cooler, dryer air, making for a refreshing Friday morning with temperatures starting off around 10 degrees cooler than the muggy warmth of Thursday morning.
The cycle of warmth and humidity will not be held back for long, however; by the end of the week, they're expected to make a return. NBC Miami reports that "It’ll be warm and muggy ahead of a cold front that will move through South Florida on Thursday." In spite of these fluctuations, the weekend promises more stability with partly sunny skies and just a slight chance of showers, and Sunday sees an increase in chance of rain to 30%.
Moving into the weekend, those gusty conditions are expected to prevail, with winds reaching up to 25 mph. However, as the front stalls south of the Florida Keys, by Saturday, we should expect more sunny skies with a mild high of 77 degrees. The reported forecast conditions imply that the front’s influence might be just the respite needed from the typical South Florida heat, although the National Weather Service indicates that those beloved breezes are set to return to a whisper by Sunday, with gusts no more than 21 mph.
