In an effort to apprehend the suspect in a recent homicide case, Crime Stoppers has upped the ante, offering a hefty $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest. The case in question involves the tragic death of 16-year-old Marquis Champion, who was fatally shot on October 20 during a triple shooting incident near 79th and Hampton. The announcement, publicized by the Milwaukee government's website yesterday, seeks to generate leads on the whereabouts of Martell D. Haire, the man charged with the killing.

The urgency to find Haire, as the Milwaukee police continue their search, has been amplified with this newly announced reward. Haire is facing severe charges, including one count of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and multiple other counts involving the use of a dangerous weapon. According to the City of Milwaukee’s official document, if convicted, Haire could potentially serve upwards of 141 years in prison, alongside hefty fines.

Marquis’s family is preparing for his funeral. Two other young men injured in the shooting are currently recovering. The family has requested privacy during this time.

The family of Marquis has issued a statement seeking the public’s assistance in locating Haire, with a reward offered for information. "We MUST bring Haire to justice, and I am again asking for the public’s help in locating him," the statement, provided on the City of Milwaukee's official website, reads.
