A Minneapolis filmmaker unintentionally documented a real-life crime scene while filming a music video. The incident took place near 19th Street East & Nicollet Avenue South, where a man armed with a gun interrupted the production by robbing the camera crew. In an unexpected twist, the cameras captured the entire event, providing pivotal evidence that led to a quick arrest.
In a social media post from the Minneapolis Police Department, an official noted the film crew's encounter turned rapidly into a true crime scenario. "Talk about making a cameo!" the post began. The footage recorded during the incident was instrumental in the law enforcement investigation. "Thanks to that footage, our 5th Precinct officers tracked down a suspect and arrested him," the Minneapolis Police shared.
The suspect was apprehended with the evidence largely thanks to the inadvertent recording by the film crew. Recovered by the officers were the gun and stolen items, alongside cash and some narcotics. The social media post from the police department concluded with, "Big kudos to our 5th Precinct officers for writing the perfect ending to this made-for-Hollywood moment."
