The Missouri Governor's Council on Disability (GCD) is seeking nominations for its 2025 Inclusion and Youth Leadership Awards. Now in its 34th year, the Inclusion Award recognizes individuals who have actively worked to include people with disabilities in their workplaces and communities, honoring efforts that go beyond the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to an official announcement.
The Youth Leadership Award, now in its 13th year, recognizes young Missourians with disabilities, aged 16 to 26, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in advocating for the disability community. Nominees are often involved in projects that improve the lives of people with disabilities in Missouri. Nominations for both the Inclusion Award and Youth Leadership Award are now open, with forms available on the GCD website.
Nominations can be submitted by any individual or organization, including schools, community leaders, and other groups. Nominees must either live in Missouri or be a Missouri-based organization.
Nominations are open until January 31, 2026. The GCD works to support the full participation of nearly one million Missourians with disabilities, promoting awareness of ADA rights and responsibilities and educating the public about these standards.
