An off-duty Monroe County Sheriff’s Office employee, Josh Woods from the Court Services Division, was charged with DUI after a crash last Saturday evening. The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested him at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Sheriff Tommy Jones said, “We are working to obtain additional information regarding this matter and will release updates as we receive them,” as reported by WVLT.
Sheriff Jones emphasized transparency in a statement obtained by WBIR, saying, "In our continued effort to remain transparent with the community, we are sharing this information as promptly as possible." He said the department is working to release details of the off-duty crash involving employee Josh Woods.
