A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a collision with a car in Margate, an incident that led to an urgent airlift yesterday morning. The accident occurred on State Road 7. According to WSVN, the motorcyclist was badly injured, which necessitated emergency transport to a local hospital for treatment.
Local 10 News acquired a video that showed the aftermath of the crash: the motorcycle lay in ruin, and not far from it, a helmet rested on the pavement, both silent witnesses to the violent encounter, and as daylight broke, the routine of this neighborhood was pierced by the sounds of sirens and the propelling blades of a helicopter. Investigators spent numerous hours at the scene, parsing through the debris and the whispers of happenstance that will come to inform their reports, according to Local 10.
While details about the motorcyclist's condition were not immediately disclosed, the gravity could be inferred by the choice of airlift over ambulance. As of yesterday evening, the details of the victim's condition remained unclear and enveloped in the sort of uncertainty that meets every such unforeseen event on our roads.
A resident, offering a grim view of the persisting dangers of State Road 7, told Local 10 News that this wasn't the inaugural tragedy to jolt residents from their slumber nor would it be the last, he feared the street had become a common stage for such accidents, "This won’t be the first time (or the) last," he said, adding "I’m pretty sure something else is going to happen because this is something that’s become very common, so all you can do is just pray all of us. We don’t know when we’re going to go, but it would be good to not just go out like any kind of way."
