A routine traffic stop in Mt. Juliet led to more than just a citation for a poorly displayed license plate, as local police apprehended a man who had been evading the law since June 2020. The 54-year-old Nashville resident was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest from Wilson County due to a probation violation, according to a social media post by the Mt. Juliet Police Department.

It seems the long arm of the law has a memory to match, the wanted man had managed to maintain a low profile for over five years before the traffic stop brought him back onto the radar of local law enforcement. The discovery of his prior record was compounded when officers realized he was also in violation of a no-contact order, stemming from a recent domestic assault arrest in Cheatham County in which the passenger of his vehicle was involved. "We’re proud of our officers for their vigilance and continued commitment to keeping Mt. Juliet safe," the Mt. Juliet Police Department articulated.
Upon his detention, the suspect was transferred to the Wilson County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings. Details concerning the domestic assault case and the terms of the no-contact order were not immediately released, but his arrest underscores the intersection of routine law enforcement procedures and the pursuit of outstanding legal matters.
