Good news for commuters and residents in Carver County: the long-awaited roundabout at Park Ridge Drive and Highway 10, commonly referred to as Engler Boulevard, has finally opened, offering a potential respite from the traffic snarls that have become all too familiar in this bustling corridor. Carver County Public Works announced the completion of the new traffic feature on their social media platform.
According to the announcement, the median crossing at Highway 10/Crest Drive has been closed, and while drivers can still access Highway 10 through the right-in/right-out method at Crest Drive and the Chaska Middle School West driveway, the change is expected to affect traffic patterns and how individuals navigate the area. Carver County Public Works detailed that additional work, including tree planting, may cause outside lane closures along Highway 10 east of Highway 41, and intermittent closures could occur between Crest Drive and Park Ridge Drive to facilitate the final stages of construction, which will inevitably lead to momentary interruptions, but such short-term sacrifices are aimed at long-term gains.
While the main structure may now be navigable, county officials urge drivers and locals to maintain vigilance as the finishing touches are applied: "As we near the final stages of construction, please drive with caution and follow all posted signage," the statement from the Public Works department emphasized.
