An investigation is underway after a shooting in Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn neighborhood left one person dead and another seriously injured. Police responded to Bethel Towers apartments on the 200 block of Auburn Avenue shortly after midnight yesterday and found a 39-year-old man shot multiple times in a hallway, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

A second victim with gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital separately, and investigators later linked them to the same incident at Bethel Towers. This individual remains in serious but stable condition. Police believe an exchange of gunfire occurred inside the apartment complex, though the events leading up to it remain unclear.

According to 11Alive, officers arrived after receiving a call about the shooting, and the first victim was later pronounced dead at Grady Hospital. The suspect’s identity has not been released, and no charges have been announced. Authorities are continuing to investigate and have spoken with relatives of both victims. Anyone with information is urged to contact Atlanta Police.
