A boating collision on Norris Lake in Union County over the weekend resulted in one death and two injuries. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reported that the crash, involving two vessels, occurred around 8:30 a.m. near the Highway 33 bridge. According to WVLT, each boat had two people onboard at the time of the collision.
Two individuals were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. WBIR reported that a fourth person was initially unaccounted for, prompting a search by TWRA officers.
The missing boater’s body was later found and recovered from the water, as per WATE.
The TWRA is investigating the cause of the collision. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
